About Me
As someone with over 7 years of experience in real estate, I’ve observed firsthand the ongoing challenges homeowners—especially new buyers and those with limited English Language Proficiency—face when it comes to home maintenance. After becoming the top producer in my company in 2019, I often found clients reaching out for help with post-purchase maintenance issues, a need that extended services beyond my original real estate agent role. Motivated by these recurring concerns and my previous work in the nonprofit sector, I began conceptualizing a home maintenance company in 2023 and officially registered it in 2024. However, traditional home maintenance models proved inefficient due to high operational costs and inconvenient service scheduling. To solve this, I founded HandyHomy (www.handyhomy.com), a tech-driven platform that connects property owners with local home maintenance professionals—functioning similarly to Uber. Unlike typical B2C or C2C platforms, HandyHomy allows service providers to set prices based on expertise and timing, while the platform earns a percentage after evaluating overhead costs. I also recognize the critical role of language accessibility, as more than 10 million limited English proficient (LEP) homeowners in the U.S. often require technicians who speak their native language. Combining my experience in real estate, tech startup investments, and leadership roles at Tokma Technologies and being a part of Encrypted Technologies Private Limited, I lead this venture with a deep commitment to solving real-world problems through innovation.
